The Clock -Tower
Back to Paris tour
The Clock -Tower differs from the other towers by the rectangular section. It was built in the second half of the 14th century and it has undergone several restorations, such as the whimsical creation of the battlemented gallery for the rounds (1848). On the facade facing bd. du Palais is, since the epoch of Charles V, a public clock, unique in Paris at that time. At the moment of the restoration under Henry III, Germain Pilon executed the present framing, ornamented with fine sculptures.
